Monday 27th April- Friday 1st May 2020
Dear Parents/ Guardians, I hope that you all had a lovely weekend. Thank you for your emails last week. It was great to receive photos and to hear from so many of you that the girls are keeping well and enjoying their school work at home. Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions about the work suggested for this week. I cannot stress enough how it is not imperative that your child completes ALL of the work suggested. It is important that you work with your child in a way that best suits your own home and daily routine. While I have included some printable worksheets in this week's work. they are for those of you who requested more of this type of work and have the facilities to print at home. Thank you for your continued support with your child's homework. Ms Duffy ENGLISH The following should be covered daily as would be carried out typically for homework. Have your child sing along with the song, adding actions and clapping along with the chorus. Aistear Sociodramatic play: The children could pretend that they are zookeepers and animals in the zoo. Puppets: The children could discuss their experiences of the zoo (e.g. favourite animals), using puppets. Small world: The children could create a zoo with different enclosures, using small toy animals. Construction: The children could construct animal masks from cardboard and elastic. Creative play: The children could make their favourite animals from playdough and make a playdough zoo. Free writing: The children could write their own ‘Dear Zoo’ letters. Video: There are some episodes of ‘The Zoo’ available to watch on www.rte.ie/player/series/the-zoo/SI0000001948?epguid=AI000003266 Games: Animal charades, and reading games on roythezebra.com.
