Monday 15th- Friday 19th June 2020
Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well. We are almost at the finishing line! Thanks again to those of you who continue to send in work weekly.
This week we have included extra sports activities to mark when we would have had our 'Sports Day'. You can read about it under PE below but you shall also receive an explanatory email.
Remember you can email me should you have a query about any of the work this week.
Don't forget that it is not imperative that your child completes ALL of the work suggested.
Have a lovely week,
Ms Duffy

PE The teachers had so much fun creating a Sports Day/Week that you can complete at home! Below you’ll see a choice board of 15 Sports activities. You need to download the PDF so that you can access the links on each section. From there, you’ll see ideas and videos that will help you set up a Sports Day/Week in your home! You might like to do one activity each day, spread it out over a week, or do all activities in one day. The choice is yours! | .

Everyone who takes part will receive an electronic certificate via email. Please email me to let me know how many games you completed. |
We also have a special competition for obstacle courses. Whoever designs the most creative obstacle course will receive a special certificate and a photo of their obstacle course will be uploaded onto the School Blog for everyone to see. We’d love to see your photos of your Covid-19 Sports Day, so make sure you send them in! Remember, there needs to be more than one person in the photo, so we can upload to the blog. PS. Why not organise something nice to eat for the finale. An ice-lolly, some juice or maybe a bag of popcorn would go down a treat! Create a playlist for Sports Day background music or access a ready made album at https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7t02bxdFRuJHD8xSGyF8tD?si=FHOcL62uRS6JQw8I_By1lg The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy the Sports Challenges! Ask her to think about what she can see, hear and smell.Have her share her thoughts. Songs: ‘Trasna na dTonnta’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBdQPhFOSKs ‘The Beach Song’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zptXMcZcf18 Aistear/Play: Sociodramatic play: Set up a corner of a room as a beach and your child can imagine that she is a child, a parent, a lifeguard, an ice cream seller, etc. Puppets: The puppets could be used to reinforce the concept of beach safety (e.g. one puppet could be used as a lifeguard to teach others about being safe in the water). Small world: A small beach could be set up with some sand, water, seaweed and shells. Your child could explore the different textures with small doll figures. Construction/Sand area: Your child could construct sandcastles. Creative play: Your child could design a beach towel. Online PE Ideas:
