Our mums are out of this world so we made rockets for them! Wishing all mums a very happy Mother's Day!
We cut and stuck different sized hearts to make a Valentine's Day person. We wish everyone a day that is full of love!
The Princess and the Pea
We read the story "The Princess and the Pea". For art, we cut strips of material and layered them to represent the mattresses and quilts the queen put on top of the pea to test whether the princess was a true princess.
In Science this week, we discussed different household materials, like an egg box, cushion, jam jar, keys, and sorted them into groups of what they are made from, e.g. plastic, glass, paper, fabric, etc. In Art, we used some materials to create prints.
We have been exploring the story of 8 in Maths. For Art, we painted paper plates and cut 8 legs to make an octopus.
Our Aistear theme this month is "Polar Regions". We made a polar animal from clay last week and painted it today. There are snowy owls, polar bears, seals and walruses to name a few.
We painted paper plates and cut out shapes for the eyes, mouth and stalk.
Autumn leaves are falling down
We have been talking about autumn and identifying the signs of autumn. We did finger painting of a tree with autumn-coloured leaves falling from it.
We have been using our 5 sense this week (sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell). We made feely boards using different textured materials.
We have been playing in the doctor's surgery during Aistear so we made doctor's bags for art.
Let me take a selfie
We drew self portraits and used oil pastels to colour our features.
We drew and coloured our favourite things in our letter name. They look great hanging high in our classroom.
